FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is FITT Ladies Bootcamp?
FITT Ladies Bootcamp is a new revolution in getting fit. Sessions run for 4 evenings a week, it is open to women who are interested in getting fit in a new and exciting way. We use mainly bodyweight exercises, and minimal equipment. Our instructors are professional, qualified fitness instructors, who give members the motivation and encouragement to push themselves to new levels.

How difficult are the sessions?
FITT Ladies Bootcamp is as tough as you want it to be. The instructors will encourage you to push yourself, but no member is asked to go beyond their ability. You are welcome to come along and observe a session.

I don't think I am very fit, will I be ok?
It is not necessary to be extremely fit to join, however it does help if you have a basic level of fitness. If you can walk an hour at a good pace a few times a week then you should be fine. Your fitness level may be assessed at the beginning of each course, and our aim is to increase that level over the weeks and have you feeling fitter than before you joined!

How much does it cost?
The cost is €120 for 18 classes which runs over 6 weeks. This also includes our free bonus classes that we run every Saturday for FITT members to get in an extra workout, or catch up on a class that they may have missed during the week.

Can I try it out first?
Like most other courses of this nature offered in blocks, (ie yoga, pilates, dance, etc), it is essential that all members taking part pay in full prior to the commencement of any session, so if you have questions about the training, please feel free to ask by email or phone.

What if I miss a training session?
There is no problem if you miss a session, however, it is advisable to make as many of the sessions as you can to get the most out of the sessions, but don’t forget about the Saturday sessions that are open to all members to help them catch up on a missed class or get an extra workout in, for free! Discounts or refunds will not be given for missed classes.

Where is it on?
We run the session in different locations around Dublin. From April to September we are in Phoenix Park  and from November to March, we are in Blanchardstown, Corduff & Malahide. New locations are upcoming, we will keep you updated!

Can I bring a friend?
Of course and if  5 or more of you join, one goes free! (all 5 must register and pay at the same time and at the start of a full session.)

What if it rains?
Our sessions go on regardless of weather.

How long are the sessions?
Each class is an hour long, however, it is advisable that you arrive up to 10 mins before each session. Each course runs for 6 weeks.

What should I wear to training?
Depending on the weather, always wear good sensible running shoes, and either a tracksuit or shorts.Flat, 'fashion' slip on type sneakers are not recommended.  Wear clothing similar to if you were going for a run in the park or gym i.e, something like training leggings or shorts. Full length tracksuit pants can get heavy and mucky and can get tangled in your runners! A good sports bra is highly recommended - FITT Ladies Bootcamp members receive discount from www.shockabsorber.co.uk  when purchashing online. A light rain-jacket is advisable on rainy days, and in winter, a hat and gloves are always great to have.

Is it mixed?
No, the course is open to women only who feel more comfortable in a female only environment. From time to time we may have male instructors, but we will let you know beforehand.

What age group is it for?
It is open to all ages, however, the majority of our members are aged between 22 – 60yrs

Can I go alone?
It's the best way to join! In fact most of our members come on their own and meet up with other members in the same boat, it is a great place to meet new people and get fit at the same time!

When is FITT Ladies Bootcamp held? Is there a timetable?
Our timetable is on the website – check it out for different times & locations here

Should I talk to a doctor before joining?
Each FITT member is required to complete a medical questionnaire on signing up. If you have any illness or disabilities, please inform the instructor before any session

How do I prepare for the sessions?
Please try to not eat at least 1 hour before the session. Its good to have a substantial lunch on the day of the session, at lunch-time, and then not eat until the session is over.

When can I start?
You can start at anytime! Your sessions are counted from the first session you attend. This is why its so important that you give your name at the start of each session to make sure you get your full 8 week session!

What is a typical training session like?
Please aim to arrive 10 minutes before the session begins. We warm up for 10-15 mins and then the session will differ from one session to another. It is made up a variety of circuit training, aerobic training, boxing, resistance training and conditioning. To finish each session, a 10 minute cool down and stretch completes the work out!

Can I carry forward classes during a session?
Unfortunately, we are unable to carry forward any classes to another session. It is quite common that members will occasionally miss a class or 2 during a 16 class session, but we do advise, that you try to make it to at least 13 out of the 16 for the best result. Dont forget, you have up to 24 classes that you can go to during your 8 weeks, the extra 8 classes are on in Phoenix park at 1030 am each Saturday.
